Knitterella

  • First Sweater

I did it! I finished O's first sweater in time for his one year photoshoot. I couldn't be happier with the results of this knit. This is the 2nd time I made the Flax sweater. It's now my go-to baby knit for boys. I love everything about this sweater; quick, fun, seamless, large range of sizes and it's a FREE download. Thank you Tin Can Knits for designing this awesome pattern!I knit mine using Plucky scored from the Shindig out of the One Hit Wonder bin.  I knit the 1-2 year old size and it was a perfect fit. You can find...

  • Plucktember WIPs

With Plucktember 18 days in I thought I should pop in and post my WIPs that I have been working on. I must say, with my love for Plucky Yarn, every month is Plucktember for me ;) but I do seem to push out more knitting during this official Plucktember month. Below is a pic of some of my Plucktember WIPs. I can't reveal too much because these are new designs I'm working on. I've very excited about them! However, not pictured above, I do have a new pattern on my needles that I can tell you about. My Color Swatch Cowl has gone over so well and...

  • NEW PATTERN: Color Swatch Cowl

I'm pleased to announce my newest pattern, Color Swatch Cowl! Picking colors is half the fun in this bold and graphic colorwork cowl worked in worsted weight yarn (knit in Plucky Scholar). In addition to options for either an infinity scarf or a standard cowl there are instructions for a second version in fingering weight yarn (knit in Plucky Oxford). This design is knit in the round, using a provisional cast on and Kitchener stitch grafting. The Color Swatch Cowl is an addicting knit and a great option for a knitter new to colorwork! This pattern was designed with The...

If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter, earlier this year I gave a hint to some exciting news that involved me, PBS and Vickie Howell. • PATTERN: Wavelength

My Wavelength pattern that was designed exclusively for The Plucky Shindig is live to the public today!  A chevron like wave embellishes the top and bottom of these fun fingerless mitts as well as the brim of this comfy hat. Inspired by The Plucky Knitter’s beautiful yarn and colors, these mitts are as much fun to knit as they are to wear!  This set is knit using one skein of Plucky Feet in colorway Lawnornament and one skein of Plucky Feet in colorway Charming. The yardage on Plucky Feet is so generous that if I switched up my main color...

  • Plucky Shindig 2014 Photobook

May sure was a busy and fun month for me. Not only did I go to TNNA at the beginning of the month but at the end of the month I got to go and be a part of The Plucky Shindig! The Plucky retreat last year was a great time and this year's retreat was a wonderful time as well. It was beyond wonderful actually! I'm so thankful I was able to have my own Knitterella table within the Shindig Marketplace and so thankful to spend 2 full days with the wonderful Plucky crew. I just love Sarah and...

  • TNNA 2014 Photobook

It's hard to believe it's already been a week since TNNA. TNNA is such a wonderful show to go to. It's great for business, networking and inspiration but my favorite part is being about catching up in-person with my friends in the industry that I usually only get to 'see' via the internet. It's so wonderful to be surrounded by people with the same passion for knitting! Below are some pics from the show…   Here I am in my happy place - my booth!   I made sure I snagged a signed copy of Wendy Bernard of Knit And Tonic's new...
