  • BOOK REVIEW: Grown

I’m honored to be one of the stops on the ‘Grown’ blog tour!

Grown is the newest book self-published my friend and fellow knitwear designer, Kate Oates. The talented Kate is very well known for her line of knitting patterns for children for Tot Toppers. Kate has had such success with her line of children designs that she decided to take 10 of her well-known and loved children’s patterns and transform them into adult versions. What a brilliant idea, right?!

With that came the birth of Grown

Grown is a refined collection that features raglan-style sweater designs with very little finishing and sewing. Each design was inspired by an original Tot Toppers pattern and was transitioned thoughtfully and intentionally for grown-ups. These Grown versions were cultivated to flatter adult women and men with some optional features for customization. Combine this book with your favorite Tot Toppers pattern to create sweaters for the entire family!

Myself, being a mom of 3 young boys, I think this is a wonderful concept. I’ve always loved Kate’s children’s patterns (some of my favs that I have knit for my boys are Master Charles and the Gramps Cardigan) and now to have the option of knitting a matching sweater for myself or my husband (or both of us) is so fun!

Kate has been so generous with her blog tour. She has offered to give away one FREE ebook copy of Grown to you!! To enter, simply leave a comment here on this blog post, and to make it fun, let me know what your favorite pattern is from Grown. Come Monday morning, October 31, I’ll post the randomly chosen winner here.
    Good luck!
OH, and before I forget, Kate is currently running a Grown KAL in her Ravelry group. It would be great time to cast-on for one of her Grown knits and join in the fun. Plus, she’ll be giving out prizes! ;)

Thanks for sharing the book and the chance to win. I LOVE that Late has such cute designs for boys. I have two young boys and I find it hard to find a cute pattern for my boys. I also love that I can now have a matching sweater. No longer is it just a daddy and me thing!!! I think my favorite sweater is Jesse’s girl. Thanks again!!!
