  • GIVEAWAY: Green Gables Knits

Although it's been a long time since the blog post of me starting my Diana's Hat, it really didn't take long to knit at all. This quick knit, slouchy hat was a fun and relaxing knit. The brim had just enough detail to keep my needles interested and yet I didn't find I needed to keep reading the directions on what to do next. This easy to wear hat will soon be giving to a friend for her birthday. I think she'll love it!

This is just one of the beautiful patterns found in Green Gables Knits. Fellow knit wear designer and friend, Joanna Johnson is the author behind the treasured book. The book is inspired by the children's classic, Anne of Green Gables. Inside the book you'll find eight beautiful patterns designed for men, women and home. Each design is accompanied by quotes from the novel, as well as personal photographs from L. M. Montgomery's (the author from the Anne of Green Gables) personal collection. The patterns and the book itself are so thoughtfully designed - it's a true treasure to have in your knitting library.

Joanna was so kind to send me a signed copy of her book to give to one of you! To enter to win, please leave me a comment and tell me your favorite design in the book. (you can see all the designs HERE).

I'll draw a winner on Monday, March 17th. March 17th is also St. Patrick's Day so maybe a lil' luck of the Irish will rub off on you!

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. However imagine if you added some great pictures or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this site could undeniably be one of the best in its field. Terrific blog!

I have the perfect Plucky Primo fingering in Icy Audrey to make Miss Stacey’s shawl. Pattern and color make it a great spring time knit.

What a lovely giveaway! I, too grew up on the Anne books and love them to this day. I love all of the patterns, but to choose one that jumps out to me, it’s a toss-up between Anne’s carpet bag, and believe it or not, Miss Stacy’s shawl, which looks as though I could use it with the historical school programs I give. My daughter would rock the hat, and I’d wear the sweater forever, my husband would look amazing in Matthew’s vest- I’d better slow down now!

My favorite, favorite pattern is Anne’s sweater. But when I get this book (hopefully through this giveaway, but if not I’ll be buying it!) I’ll be making my own Diana hat for my bosom friend. I’ve been re-reading Anne of Green Gables and she remains my kindred spirit. Thank you for hosting, K Anne

My favorite would be Anne’s sweater – but I think I’d do Diane’s hat first, as a warm up…
